~A Glimpse Into Our Home~

I have seen so many beautiful, inspiring homes in blogland. I can only hope that one day our's will become more of what we want it to be. For now, this works for us, but as many of us do, I dream of everything being as perfectly primitive as possible & comfortable (with all the modern conveniences!).

There are three rooms with wallpaper that I want to remove and paint. There is smoky blue carpet that we want replaced with wide, antique hardwood planks. Every room needs to be freshened with paint. I'd like to replace the window screens and we have talked about enlarging the home office/guest bedroom to make it bigger. I want primitive style lighting in every room. I want to paint my kitchen cabinets and replace the counters. And much more, not to mention the numerous jobs that need to be done outside. Let's add painting the entire house to that list.

To see it all in print makes me think that maybe we just need a new house! But right now, that's not about to happen. So I resign myself to making the best of what we have and being thankful for it.

With this on my mind, I decided to share a bit of our home with all of you. It is always a work in progress, so things sometimes change a lot, while others seem to find their perfect spot. With back & knee problems, I am not as inclined to move big pieces of furniture as often as I used to. So there is a lot of give and take!

Well rats! I couldn't figure out how to add a slideshow in this area, so it is posted at the very bottom for anyone that would like to take a peak.

Have a great day and be blessed!

I really enjoyed your slide show..it is fun to see others homes. We are all the time taking wallpaper off our rental poperties. It really isn't that tough but it makes a world of difference...I would start there because it doesn't cost much but makes a big impact. Dianntha

I enjoyed that so much Carolyn. What a knack you have for grouping things together and I love your different collections. We all have things on our wish list that we wish we could do....growing up I longed for the day I could have white appliances. I finally got them and now they are out of style!!! Oh well, they work and I'm grateful for that.

C - I really LOVE your slideshow! Everything looks perfectly prim and not over done! Love that about you!

You can really see the livingroom wall color now, I remember when you painted it and couldnt get the lighting just right for pics. With the SS on the red background it really pops and looks great!

You truly are an inspiration to me my sweet friend!

What a great slide show...your home is beautiful!

Hubby would like to move once our boys are grown, but we are soooo close to getting this house paid for. I just don't want to start all over with house payments. I would love to have the security of knowing that our house is paid for, ya know?

Thanks for opening the doors of your home to us!

What a wonderful tour :)
You have a wonderful home. And don't worry, I think we all have one of those lists...LOL. There are so many things that I want to do here but of course like most people, money is always the biggest thing. So we do little by little as we go along.

I also wanted to tell you that I absolutely LOVE your dish set!!! I keep my eyes open for something like that but haven't been so lucky yet. But you never know, I just may find them.

Have yourself a great rest of the week :)

Sooo enjoyed touring your home and seeing some wonderful prim fixins! Do you know that you can paint over wallpaper?? A friend shared this with me and I tried it in a small bathroom, and it turned out great. I just recently got a professional painter to come in and do some painting and he could not believe there was paper underneath. I did not prime first....just put 2 coats of paint over it. You may want to try, makes everything look prim-perfect.
